Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets 6 oz each, skin-on
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low-sodium
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger freshly grated
  • 1 tbsp green onions sliced, for garnish
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds for garnish

Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Shallow dish for marinating
  • Small bowl for mixing marinade
  • Small saucepan
  • Kitchen thermometer

Method

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down in a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well-coated. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes at room temperature.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade and place the fillets skin-side down in the air fryer basket. Reserve the marinade.
  5. Air fry the salmon for 10-12 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  6. While the salmon is cooking, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Once the salmon is cooked, brush the thickened glaze over the fillets. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
