Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 oz each
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 lemon zested and juiced
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Small bowl
  • Pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, chopped dill, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin side down. Brush the lemon garlic butter mixture generously over the top of each fillet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  5. Remove from the oven and let the salmon rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the flavors to meld and the salmon to finish cooking.

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For a richer flavor, let the salmon marinate in the lemon garlic butter mixture for 30 minutes before baking.
• Avoid overcooking the salmon to prevent it from drying out. Check doneness frequently.
• Serve with a wedge of lemon for an extra burst of freshness.
Food Safety:
• Always check the internal temperature of the salmon to ensure it reaches 145°F (63°C) for food safety.
• Store leftovers in the refrigerator within two hours of cooking and consume within 3 days.
