Method
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps the seasoning stick and promotes even cooking.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to create a seasoning blend.
- Brush the seasoning mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet. Place the fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Arrange lemon slices on top of the salmon. If using, sprinkle with fresh dill.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute for moist, flavorful results.
Notes
Chef's Tips:
• For added flavor, marinate the salmon in the seasoning blend for 30 minutes before baking.
• Avoid overcooking - salmon continues to cook after being removed from the oven.
• Serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for a bright, citrusy finish.
Food Safety:
• Always cook salmon to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) to ensure food safety.
• Refrigerate leftover salmon within two hours and consume within 3-4 days.
