Method
- In a small bowl, combine the minced chipotle peppers, lime juice, olive oil, garlic, honey, salt, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable plastic bag. Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring all pieces are well coated. Refrigerate and let marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F) or preheat your oven to 400°F if baking.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. If grilling, place the salmon skin-side down on the grill. If baking, place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Grill the salmon for about 6-8 minutes, or bake for 12-15 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F and the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
Notes
Chef's Tips:
• For a less spicy version, reduce the amount of chipotle peppers or use only the adobo sauce.
• Avoid overcooking the salmon to prevent it from drying out; use a thermometer for precision.
• Serve with a side of rice or grilled vegetables for a complete meal.
Food Safety:
• Ensure the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F to guarantee food safety.
• Store leftovers in the refrigerator within two hours and consume within 3 days.
