  • 1 cup all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted, divided
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar for coating

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add the water and 1 tablespoon of melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 2 minutes until smooth.
  5. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Brush the top with the remaining melted butter.
  6. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar evenly over the buttered dough. Cut the dough into 1-inch wide strips.
  7. Twist each strip and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the bread sticks are golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
