Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk for glaze

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Knife for swirling

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 4 tsp of baking powder, and 1/4 tsp of salt. Add 1.5 cups of milk, 2 eggs, 2 tsp of vanilla extract, and 1/2 cup of melted butter. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  4. In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of brown sugar and 2 tbsp of ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter.
  5. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter, creating a marbled effect.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze by whisking 1 cup of powdered sugar with 2-3 tbsp of milk until smooth. Adjust the milk amount to achieve your desired consistency.
  8. Once the cake is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool slightly. Drizzle the glaze over the warm cake.

Notes

Chef's Tips:

• Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
Food Safety:
• Ensure eggs are fresh and stored properly to prevent foodborne illness.
