Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 ounces each
  • 4 tablespoons butter softened
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Small mixing bowl
  • Oven thermometer

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, lemon zest, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin side down. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each fillet.
  4. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional fresh parsley and lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For a richer flavor, let the garlic butter mixture sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before spreading on the salmon.
• Avoid overcooking the salmon to prevent it from drying out; use a thermometer to check doneness.
• Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
Food Safety:
• Ensure the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for safe consumption.
• Refrigerate leftovers promptly and consume within 3 days.
