Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon skin-on, about 6 oz each
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce low-sodium preferred
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger grated
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp green onions sliced, for garnish
  • 1 lemon lemon sliced, for serving

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Small bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, sesame oil, and rice vinegar to create the marinade.
  3. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon the marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well-coated. Let the salmon marinate for 10 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve with lemon slices.

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For a deeper flavor, marinate the salmon in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours before baking.
• Avoid overcooking the salmon to prevent it from drying out. Check for doneness at the 18-minute mark.
• Serve with a side of steamed rice and sautéed vegetables for a complete meal.
Food Safety:
• Ensure the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) to kill harmful bacteria.
• Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours of cooking.
