Ingredients

  • 1 cup cups unsalted butter melted and cooled slightly
  • 2 cups cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Whisk or electric mixer
  • Spatula

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with butter or non-stick spray to ensure the brownies don't stick.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, mixing until well blended. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  5. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy the gooey goodness!

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For a more intense chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate chips instead of semi-sweet.
• Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the brownies tender and gooey.
• Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an indulgent dessert.
Food Safety:
• Ensure eggs are at room temperature to prevent scrambling when mixed with warm butter.
• Store brownies in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
