- In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb and ground beef. Add the grated onion, minced garlic, oregano, rosemary, cumin, marjoram, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly with your hands until well combined.
- Stir in the breadcrumbs and egg, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the meat mixture. The egg helps to bind the meatloaf while the breadcrumbs absorb excess moisture.
- Shape the mixture into a compact loaf on the prepared baking sheet. Aim for a shape that's about 8 inches long and 5 inches wide.
- Bake the gyro meatloaf for about 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing thinly to serve.
