Method
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or prepare your grill for medium heat. Cut four large pieces of aluminum foil, about 12x18 inches each.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
- Place each salmon fillet in the center of a foil piece. Spoon the marinade evenly over each fillet, ensuring they are well coated.
- Fold the foil over the salmon, sealing the edges to create a packet. Place the packets on a baking sheet if using the oven, or directly on the grill.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or grill for 12-15 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Carefully open the foil packets (watch out for steam) and serve the salmon immediately, garnished with additional fresh cilantro if desired.
Notes
Chef's Tips:
• For a deeper flavor, let the salmon marinate in the fridge for 30 minutes before cooking
• Avoid overcooking the salmon to prevent it from drying out; the foil helps retain moisture
• Serve with a squeeze of fresh lime juice for an extra burst of flavor
Food Safety:
• Ensure salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) to be fully cooked
• Store leftovers in the refrigerator within two hours of cooking and consume within 3 days
