Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 oz each, skin-on or skinless
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce low-sodium preferred
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated, optional
  • 1 lemon sliced, for serving
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or cooking spray
  • Small bowl
  • Whisk
  • Pastry brush
  • Meat thermometer

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it to prevent sticking.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, and ginger until well combined.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the honey garlic mixture generously over the top and sides of each fillet.
  4. Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) and the salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a moist and flavorful result.
  6. Serve the salmon hot, garnished with lemon slices and fresh parsley.

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For a richer flavor, marinate the salmon in the honey garlic mixture for 30 minutes before baking.
• Avoid overcooking the salmon to prevent dryness; use a meat thermometer for best results.
• Serve with a side of roasted vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
Food Safety:
• Ensure salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for food safety.
• Refrigerate leftovers within two hours of cooking.
