  • 4 salmon fillets 6 oz each, skin-on preferred
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low-sodium recommended
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger freshly grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons green onions sliced, for garnish

Equipment

  • Baking sheet or grill-safe pan
  • Parchment paper (if baking)
  • Small bowl and whisk
  • Pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or prepare your grill for medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the glaze.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or in a grill-safe pan. Brush the glaze generously over the top of each fillet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or grill for 6-8 minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Remove the salmon from the oven or grill and let it rest for 5 minutes. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
