Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 oz each, skin on or off
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low-sodium preferred
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger freshly grated
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or aluminum foil
  • Small bowl
  • Whisk
  • Pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to create the glaze.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the glaze generously over the top of each fillet, ensuring they are well coated.
  4. Sprinkle the sesame seeds evenly over the glazed salmon.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
  6. Remove from the oven and let the salmon rest for a few minutes. Garnish with green onions before serving.

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For a thicker glaze, reduce the sauce mixture in a saucepan before applying to the salmon.
• Avoid overcooking the salmon to prevent it from becoming dry. Check for doneness at the 12-minute mark.
• Serve with a side of steamed jasmine rice and sautéed bok choy for a complete meal.
Food Safety:
• Ensure salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for food safety.
• Store leftovers in the refrigerator within two hours of cooking and consume within 3 days.
