  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs plain or seasoned
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 10.5 oz
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp cold water

Equipment

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them in a single layer in the slow cooker.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, and ketchup. Pour this mixture over the meatballs.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4 hours or until the meatballs are cooked through and the gravy is hot and bubbly.
  5. About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the gravy. Continue cooking on low until the gravy reaches your desired consistency.

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For a richer flavor, brown the meatballs in a skillet before adding them to the slow cooker
• Avoid overmixing the meatball mixture to keep the meatballs tender
• Serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles to soak up the delicious gravy
Food Safety:
• Ensure meatballs reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) for safety
• Store leftovers in the refrigerator within two hours of cooking and consume within 3-4 days
