Method
- Start by preparing the base of your platter. Slice the pineapple into rounds and arrange them in a fan shape on a large platter to form the turkey's body.
- For the head, place a pear at the top of the pineapple slices, slightly overlapping the body. Use two blueberries for the eyes, pressing them gently into the pear.
- Cut a small strawberry in half and use one half for the beak, positioning it just below the eyes. Use a small slice of orange to create the feet at the bottom of the pineapple body.
- Create the tail feathers by arranging the grapes, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries in a colorful, fan-like pattern behind the pineapple body. Alternate the colors and types of fruit to create a vibrant display.
- Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
Chef's Tips:
• For a more stable base, you can use a halved cantaloupe or watermelon instead of pineapple
• Avoid over-handling fruits to prevent bruising
• Serve with a fruit dip or yogurt for added flavor
Food Safety:
• Ensure all fruits are washed thoroughly before use
• Refrigerate if not serving immediately to maintain freshness
