Ingredients

  • 8 oz smoked salmon flaked
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill finely chopped
  • 1 tsp horseradish optional, for a kick
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper freshly ground
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Immersion blender or food processor (optional)

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream. Mix until smooth and well-blended.
  2. Add the flaked smoked salmon, lemon juice, dill, horseradish (if using), black pepper, and salt to the cream cheese mixture. Stir until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
  3. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. For a smoother texture, you can use an immersion blender or food processor to blend the dip to your desired consistency.
  4. Chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For a lighter version, use low-fat cream cheese and Greek yogurt instead of sour cream
• Avoid over-blending to maintain the texture of the salmon
• Serve with a variety of dippers like crackers, bagel chips, or vegetable crudites
Food Safety:
• Keep refrigerated until serving to prevent bacterial growth
• Consume within 3 days of preparation
