Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour plus extra for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup whole milk room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk for glaze

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • 8-inch round baking pan
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk

Method

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, salt, and baking powder. Mix well to ensure even distribution of the dry ingredients.
  2. Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms. You might need to use your hands to bring the dough together.
  3. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute until smooth. Roll the dough into a rectangle about 8x10 inches.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread this mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Starting from one of the longer sides, roll the dough tightly into a log. Cut the log into 6 equal pieces. Place the rolls cut side up in a greased 8-inch round baking pan.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18-20 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the filling is bubbling. While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  7. Once the rolls are out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes before drizzling with the glaze. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Chef's Tips:
• For a richer flavor, you can substitute some of the milk with heavy cream in the dough.
• Avoid overworking the dough to keep the rolls tender.
• Serve with a cup of coffee or tea for a delightful breakfast or snack.
Food Safety:
• Ensure rolls are cooked to an internal temperature of at least 190°F (88°C) to ensure they are fully baked.
• Store leftovers in an airtight container and consume within 2 days for best quality.
